Gössl
Gössl is one of the leading premium and luxury brands for traditional Austrian fashion in the German-speaking market. With 27 stores across Germany and Austria and an established online store, the family-owned company has combined traditional craftsmanship with modern retail for more than 75 years.
After relaunching its online store on Shopify, the next step was clear: connect all physical stores to the new commerce setup.
Together with the Gössl team, we designed and implemented a Shopify POS setup for all 27 locations and integrated it into the existing Shopify environment.

27 Stores. One shared system.
Setting up the hardware is the easy part. The real challenge is making sure everything works smoothly in day-to-day retail.
Who can apply discounts? How should roles and permissions be managed across all locations? How do gift cards work online and in-store? And what are the requirements for fiscalisation and receipts?
We worked through these processes together with Gössl and translated them into a setup that can be managed consistently across all locations.

Unified Commerce
A POS setup built for everyday retail
From roles and permissions to gift card and discount logic and fiscalisation, the focus was never just on the individual checkout. It was on how all the processes behind it work together.
Alongside setting up the individual locations, we configured the Shopify POS structure and integrated fiscalisation through OpenFiskal. Specific requirements, such as Gössl's DIN A4 invoice receipt, were also incorporated directly into the setup.
The result is a POS solution built around the way Gössl actually works in retail — rather than forcing existing processes into a predefined system.
The goal was to bring the online store and physical retail together on one commerce platform and create the foundation for a more connected Unified Commerce experience.
Unified Commerce with Shopify
With Shopify POS, Gössl's online store and physical stores now run on the same commerce platform. Products, sales and processes can be managed centrally, making day-to-day operations simpler and more transparent.
For Gössl, that means one connected Shopify setup across all 27 stores — and a foundation that can continue to evolve as its Unified Commerce strategy grows.
The project shows how Shopify POS can be implemented successfully for established premium retailers with a large physical store network, connecting online and offline commerce without adding unnecessary complexity.
